Root River Trail

Houston Nature Center at Trailhead Park is the eastern trailhead of the Root River Trail System. The Center offers ample parking and access to miles of trail for you to bike or hike. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife as you make your way along the Trail and through the nine “Trail Towns.”

For trail information, including conditions and closures, please contact the Minnesota DNR Rochester office: 507-206-2847.
The DNR is currently monitoring the rattlesnake population in the area; if you should see one, please call the Minnesota DNR Lanesboro office: 507-467-2552.
